Ken Lindsay
Managing Director
Ken is a Chartered Surveyor with over 25 years experience in UK commercial property. His career in property spans both public and private sectors. As Senior Surveyor from 1983 with Scottish Provident and Aberdeen Asset Managers he was responsible for a £350 million property investment portfolio, and undertook many major transactions. In 1993, as Property Fund Manager, he assumed responsibility for an active UK property portfolio worth £500 million with annual purchases and sales of more than £100 million. Ken joined the Board of Halladale in 1998 as Property Director and following Stockland’s acquisition of Halladale assumed the role of Joint Managing Director, becoming sole Managing Director a year later.
Mark Harkin
Finance Director
Mark graduated from Glasgow University in 1980 and is a Chartered Accountant. After 6 years in the accountancy profession, he joined Caltrust Limited (which became part of Sheraton Caltrust plc), a Scottish based property development company in 1986 and was involved in many development projects throughout the UK. In 1990 he joined Edinburgh Development and Investment Limited, the property development arm of Edinburgh District Council. Mark joined the Board of Halladale as Finance Director in 1995.
Bryan Sherriff
Head of Asset Management
Bryan is a Chartered Surveyor with over 15 years experience in UK commercial property. Bryan worked for Standard Life Investments from 1995 until 2000. Initially employed as a Portfolio Manager, he managed a portfolio worth in excess of £150m before becoming a Development Manager with responsibility for a development programme covering all sectors worth in excess of £100m. Bryan then spent two years working for MacDonald Estates where he was responsible for securing new development opportunities primarily in the retail warehouse and leisure sectors. Bryan joined Halladale in September 2002 to focus on asset management and development and was promoted to Head of Asset Management in February 2008.
David Petrie
Head of New Business
David Petrie graduated from Nottingham Trent in 1991 with a BSc in Urban Estate Surveying. He qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1993 whilst working with DTZ Debenham Thorpe in Glasgow. With DTZ he has since gained both occupational and investment agency experience acting for both institutions and property companies. David has also worked with Rreef Fund Managers, (now Aberdeen), where his responsibilities included asset management, acquisitions and disposals for Nottingham County Council Pension Fund. David joined Halladale in December 2001 to focus on asset management and development and was promoted to Head of New Business in February 2008.
Andy Macdonald
Head of Major Projects
Andy graduated from Cambridge University with a MA in Land Economy and has 18 years experience in the property industry, predominantly in major mixed use regeneration development. He worked for Multiplex Development Ltd (now Brookfield) where from 2004 he was Managing Director of Regeneration and latterly Managing Director, and spent 8 years as Development Director of Stannifer Developments Ltd, where he was responsible for major retail-led regeneration developments.
Andy joined Stockland as Head of Major Projects in June 2008 and is responsible for Stockland’s major commercial and mixed-use projects in the UK.
Chris Akayan
Head of Human Resources and Corporate Affairs
Chris graduated from the University of Sydney in 1990 with an Honours degree in Economics. He worked as an economist with the Australian Federal Government for several years before joining Price Waterhouse Urwick as a management consultant. In 1996 Chris joined Ernst & Young and then Capgemini, one of the world’s leading IT and management consultancy companies, where he worked for 8 years and led the Change Management/HR practice in Australia.
Prior to joining Stockland’s UK operation he was General Manager for Organisational Development in Stockland Australia. Chris commenced as Head of Human Resources and Corporate Affairs in September 2008.
