Residents of Doonella Noosa have joined forces to create their own large scale organic garden in a first for the Sunshine Coast.
Dozens of residents are involved in the unique project which will provide a wide range of organically grown produce for everyone in the community.
The urban garden has been created on land owned by one of the residents and also serves as an outdoor meeting place for the community to gather and socialise.

Doonella Noosa houses the nest of a White Bellied Sea Eagle, which is a protected species under both Queensland and Federal legislation.
The nest, which is located in the north-east area of Doonella Noosa, is not only protected by a vegetation buffer, but general disturbance is also restricted during breeding season, from May to October, with no civil construction activity within 100m.
Capturing the essence of Doonella Noosa in fantastically inspired steel is the work of international sculptor Amy Scott. This unique female figure unites the spirit of the landscape, its creatures and plant-life with a sense of reverence, mysticism and notions of natural shelter.
Paying homage to the Australian painters and sculptors of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Stockland commissioned this fascinating public artwork to celebrate the opening of Doonella Noosa and to act as a gateway feature for the new residential community.
Her presence will engender a sense of ownership and pride in the burgeoning residential area for future residents and neighbours alike.
