Stockland launches their largest revegetation program at Ormeau Ridge
One of the Northern Gold Coast's largest ever environmental programs is under way at Ormeau Ridge with the revegetation of a massive section of the Pimpama River. More than 40 hectares of riverfront with be revegetated to improve water quality in the area and provide a vital green link for wildlife movement. The program will see remnant cane, weeds and lantana replaced with native vegetation, including 300,000 trees ? that?s 333 trees for each family that will live at Ormeau Ridge.

Stockland launched program to learn more about rare Ormeau Bottle Tree
A new research program is under way to discover more about a very unique tree species found only in the Ormeau region of south-east Queensland. However, experts are now looking at ways to conserve the tree and increase its numbers. The research is being conducted by the University of the Sunshine Coast in collaboration with the Queensland Herbarium and is expected to take about six months to complete.
