Historical Report of Riverstone Crossing, qld.

Have you ever wondered about the history of Riverstone Crossing?

Otmoor farm was established in th early 1870s. The property was purchased by the Queensland National Bank in 1876 with the intention of developing it as a substantial sugar plantation. Declining prices and over production in the mid late 1880s led to the closure of the mill. In 1935, Otmoor farm was purchased by Fred and Edwin Kleinschmidt. Under the Kleinschmidt brother, arrowroot became the principal crop on Otmoor. Arrowroot production ceased in 1976. With the closure of the mill, dairying became the principal activity on Otmoor. Otmoor farm was sold in 2004 to develop the property for residential and recreational use.
