Stockland serves up a world class tennis centre in Craigieburn

Hume residents will soon enjoy another world-class venue right on their doorstep with the official announcement on February 1st that work will commence on the Hume Regional Tennis and Community Centre later this month.

Located in Craigieburn North, within Stockland's fast growing Highlands residential community, the five hectare site is tipped to be the crowning jewel within Tennis Australia's north-western development program.

Stockland is working in partnership with the Hume City Council, Tennis Australia and Tennis Victoria to deliver this new recreational centre and made the official announcement at a launch event at Highlands this morning.

The Hume Regional Tennis and Community Centre is planned to feature up to 24 tennis courts including a show court with arena seating, and a shared multi-use community centre.

Once complete, Hume residents will be able to use the tennis courts to participate in tennis lessons or also for casual, social games.
The community centre is scheduled to officially open in late 2013.

Community Events at Highlands

Residents at Highlands have a wide variety of regular and one-off events that happen throughout the year. As well as the Richmond Tigers training, The Highgate Recreational Reserve also plays host to regular VFL matches on Saturdays and occasional Sundays throughout the season.

Other events include a walking group ran by the Craigiburn Diabetics Suport Group, a Teddy Bear's Picnic and Children's Storytime hosted by the Craigiburn Library, and jazz music at the Waterside Café. All the events are very sociable and a fantastic way to meet other families living in the area and build relationships.
