Community collaborative session, Mernda

Shaping your Mernda

Stockland in partnership with the City of Whittlesea, invited residents from Mernda and surrounding suburbs to participate in a series of collaborative sessions for local residents interested in shaping Mernda as a healthy, sustainable and vibrant place to live.

Community members shared ideas and built a mural of ideas, events and initiatives to build a great community. Several of the resident participants were local community leaders, while others had quite recently arrived in Mernda. The ideas and aspirations for the community that were shared provide an excellent foundation not only upon which a residents' group can form, but a guide for the ways in which Stockland can best support the community.

The feedback from the residents, is that they are particularly excited that the artwork created as a result of these sessions will be on display at the community centre and at The City of Whittlesea Council offices. Stockland and The City of Whittlesea Council are now working with residents to implement the ideas and initiatives.

If you are interested in joining the Mernda residents group, please contact us at cdvic@stockland.com.au.

Buttercross Park coming soon to Mernda Villages

Buttercross Park coming soon to Mernda Villages

Stockland Mernda Villages is pleased to share that our newest and biggest park, Buttercross Park, will open in June 2012.

Stockland facilitated a community consultation for this park, where residents contributed ideas as to what they would like to see in their new open space. BBQ facilities as well as a playground and abundance of open space will make Buttercross a destination for both residents and community members alike.

We look forward to bringing this to life over the coming months.

Woolworths at Mernda

Shop til you drop at Mernda Villages

Residents at Mernda Villages will have everything at their finger tips with a new shopping centre due to open in early 2012.

Ideally located on Mernda Village Drive, Stockland is excited to confirm that the centre will include a Woolworths supermarket and up to 10 specialty stores likely to include a café, chemist and fast food outlets once complete.

With car parking and bicycle facilities available onsite, the centre is the perfect one stop shop to pick up all the daily essentials.   Be sure to stay tuned for further updates.

NBN co

The National Broadband Network is coming

Stockland residents will be some of the first in Victoria to be connected to the National Broadband Network (NBN) when Australia's largest national infrastructure project is rolled out across communities soon.

Over coming years, the NBN will connect an estimated 1.9 million Australian homes to a superfast, national broadband network that will serve Australia for decades to come.

Stockland is working closely with NBN Co., the company responsible for the network, to ensure Stockland communities are the first to benefit from this state-of-the-art technology.

At Mernda Villages, the implementation of NBN means that broadband access in your home, businesses and local schools will be faster than ever.

To find out more about the NBN, including status updates or if you are in an NBN activated zone visit the NBN website or call the NBN Customer Care Centre on 1800 881 816.
