Human Powered Vehicle Challenge (HPV) - Sponsored by Stockland Selandra Rise

Stockland Selandra Rise was pleased to sponsor Hillcrest Christian College?s efforts in RACV?s Human Powered Vehicle challenge held on Saturday 26 November.
The students were able to showcase that being healthy and active in your community can transform others in that the team covered 630km in very wet conditions over 23 hours.

We look forward to continuing to support Hillcrest Community College.

Selandra community place

Selandra Community Place - Collaborative Partnership

Selandra Community Place (SCP) is an Australian first concept.

It is an interactive display home that will demonstrate a variety of sustainable initiatives around improving the environment, health and wellbeing of Selandra Rise residents and the wider community.
SCP is as an eight-star, zero energy home and just some of the techniques and materials displayed include solar orientation, double glazing, insulation and air sealing.

The partners behind SCP; Stockland, City of Casey, Henley Properties Group and South East Councils Climate Change Alliance, have identified four key themes ? energy, waste, water and wellbeing ? around which all aspects of the home have been modelled.

SCP opens March 2012, only 4 months after our first resident and will offer locals an opportunity to connect and learn. Residents will have access to a myriad of information and a small business centre in their local neighbourhood. They will discover information that will assist them in choosing sustainable options for their homes, activities on offer to improve their health and wellbeing and ways they can meet their neighbours and feel more connected to their community. A range of interactive displays, DVD animations and information cards will all be available for use. A series of programs will run from SCP including a coffee club, fitness classes, sustainability homes programs, community strengthening and loads more.

Visit the Selandra Community Place Hub here.

Hilltop Park coming soon to Selandra Rise

Stockland Selandra Rise is pleased to announce that our biggest park, Hilltop Park will open in December 2011.

Stockland facilitated a community consultation for this park, where community members contributed ideas as to what they would like to see in this open space. Nearly 2 hectares of open space, fitness stations, BBQ facilities and an adventure playground will make Hilltop Park a destination for both residents and community members alike.

We look forward to bringing this to life over the coming months.

A sustainable living hub will provide information and services for residents at Stockland Selandra Rise

Look forward to terrific services

One of our key initiatives proposed is to create what we're calling a Sustainable Living Hub. This is a house next to our display village that will provide information and services for residents.

"Normally in these kinds of developments, people have to wait years before they have access to council and state government services," says Jason Black of the Planning Institute of Australia. "From the very first day, they will be at Selandra Rise."

What's more St. Peter's Secondary Catholic College will be open early 2011, before our first resident, providing you with facilities and services from day one.

St. Peter?s College began in 1987 as the Cranbourne Campus of St. Francis Xavier, Beaconsfield with 48 students in Year 7. In 1994 St Peters College commenced as a Year 7 ? 10 Campus with 280 students. A rapid phase of growth and development commenced with the VCE being introduced and the first Year 12 group graduating in 1996.

The Curriculum diversified to a great degree with particular expansion in areas such as Technology, Sciences, Visual Arts and Languages Other than English. The person and story of St. Peter greatly contributed to a distinct character and ethos, expressed in symbol, art work and the liturgical life of the College. A reputation for excellence in the performing arts was quickly achieved and in 1998 the College was recognised in the Federal Parliament for its work towards Aboriginal Reconciliation.

2009 saw the purchase of land at Selandra Rise finalised to allow for the opening of a campus on that site in 2011. This is your opportunity to enrol today.

Healthy, engaged and active community at Stockland Selandra Rise.

Look forward to the future of community living

Stockland's vision for Selandra Rise is to create a healthy, engaged and active community where people will THRIVE.

"There will be sporting facilities for kids to play junior and senior sport - football, cricket and netball.  We also plan to build tennis courts.  There will be places for BBQs and gatherings throughout," says Greg Bursill of the Growth Areas Authority.
