The fact that she is so happy and genuinely enjoys living in a Serviced Apartment has taken a lot of concern off our shoulders
John Payne, son of Isobel (Keilor Serviced Apartment resident), Influencer
John Payne couldn't be happier when he thinks of his mother Isobel and the busy lifestyle she leads in her new home, a Serviced Apartment at Keilor Village.
When John and his mother first started thinking about the idea of a Serviced Apartment, it proved the ideal option; offering the added support Isobel needed whilst allowing her to remain as independent and active as she chose.
Enriching Isobel's life by surrounding her with like minded people, in a physically and emotionally supporting environment was one of the factors that encouraged John and his mother to look into a Serviced Apartment initially.
"Dad had just passed away and the family felt it was the right time for mum to move somewhere where she would not be on her own. We didn't want her to be lonely or worry about living on her own. As a family we were totally involved in all aspects of the process and provided her with all the support she needed to make the decision."
"Our main contact was Pat the Village Manager and nothing was ever too much trouble. Pat ensured mum had an incredibly smooth transition into the village. In particular, the two week trial stay helped her feel right at home and comfortable about the decision."
John has also found further comfort in how perfectly Keilor village caters for Isobel's needs, providing the whole family peace of mind and reassurance that she is safe, happy and surrounded by a supportive and active community.
"The fact that she is so happy and genuinely enjoys living in a Serviced Apartment has taken a lot of concern off our shoulders."
Isobel Payne, Keilor Retirement Village, Serviced Apartment
When she moved move into a serviced apartment almost two years ago, Isobel Payne admits that the decision to move into retirement living was a fairly easy choice to make.
"When I lost my husband, I was concerned about being alone. I wanted to live somewhere where I felt safe and supported, while maintaining my own sense of independence."
"It only took me a few days to adjust and settle into my new home. I met some lovely people and made some very close friends within my first few days here. I do not regret my decision to move for one minute."
Isobel can offer an abundance of advice for someone looking into serviced apartment living, but feels the most important thing is to keep an open mind. "Truly think about how you want to be living the rest of your life and how easy it can be. All we have to do is our clothes washing and someone else does the rest. I live the ladies life now!"
