  • Printed photos Choose a selection of five photos that highlight special moments with your mum
  • 5 x wooden rings
  • Acrylic paint
  • Paint brushes
  • Cardboard
  • Super glue
  • Magnets

Step 1

Someone's hand holding a paintbrush, painting round mini photo frames.

Paint the wooden rings using acrylic paint. You can paint these in any colour or design of your choice so feel free to get creative! Be sure to let the paint dry before continuing.

Step 2

On your cardboard, trace around the outside of the wooden ring and cut the circle out.

Step 3

Now, take your printed photos and place one of the wooden circles on top of it, framing the photo how you’d like it to appear. Trace the inner circle of the wooden ring onto the photo and cut it out.

Step 4

On the back of the painted wooden ring, place super glue on half of the ring (so the glue will look like a semi-circle). Attach your cardboard circle by lining it up with the wooden ring and lightly pressing it down to adhere to the glue. For the young ones, we recommend the help of an adult for this step.

Step 5

Using the super glue again, glue the magnet on the back of the cardboard. Slip your photo between the cardboard and the wooden ring.

Step 6

Once all your photo magnets are complete, arrange them in a special box or tin and present them to your mum on Mother's Day. They'll be touched by the thoughtfulness and effort you put into creating such a heartfelt gift. These mini photo magnets can be displayed on the fridge or any magnetic surface, serving as a constant reminder of the wonderful moments you've shared together.

This Mother's Day, celebrate your mum or mother figure with a handmade gift that honours the big and small moments that make her so special. These DIY mini photo magnets are not only a beautiful keepsake but also a heartfelt gesture that will be cherished for years to come. So, gather your photos, grab your craft supplies, and create something truly memorable for the amazing mum in your life!
