Section 94 Civil Works - June 2012 Update
Civil Works to the roads in and around Stockland Merrylands Shopping Centre commenced on 25 June 2012. These works have been programmed as part of the overall site development aimed at improving access in and around the Centre and its surrounding streets. Site mobilisation is currently underway.
The amended staging will commence with Stage 1 on Neil Street. Stage 2 will include works to Treves Street and McFarlane Street, McFarlane Street, McFarlane Street and Pitt Street. Stage 3 works will include updates to Neil Street and Treves Street; Treves Street and Neil Street and Merrylands Road. Finally, Stage 4 works will include Pitt Street and Neil Street. The anticipated competition date of the civil works at this stage is 30 January 2013, weather and latent conditions permitting.
Traffic management provisions will be put in-place to ensure portions of each road are kept open at all times, in order to maintain the public's normal traffic routes and to minimise the impact to on road users.
Part of the works include the construction of a new access road and park linking Stockland Merrylands to Neil Street. This street will be constructed between 40 and 46 Neil Street, Merrylands. Pedestrian access through this park during the civil works will be restricted. We encourage pedestrian access via McFarlane Street and Pitt Street during this time.

Stockland Merrylands Redevelopment
Building a fresh new future for you
In 2007, construction commenced on the $400 million redevelopment to integrate Stockland Merrylands and the town centre to create an integrated retail precinct. This involved extensive consultation with the local community and retailers to create a sustainable and convenient retail offering. The redeveopment officially completed and ceklebrated the Grand Opening in October 2012.
The redeveloped Centre has become the region's premier retail destination and the heart of the local community. Stockland Merrylands offers an extensive range of stores over two levels of shopping, including: Coles, Woolworths and Franklins supermarkets, Big W, Kmart and Target discount department stores, seven(7) mini majors, a restaurant precinct on McFarlane Street and over 200 specialty stores. The Centre also provides easy to navigate car parking with over 3,000 car spaces for your convenience.
The Ground Level of the mall includes Kmart, a fresh food precinct, homewares, telecommunications and general retail services; complimented by Target, JB Hi Fi, a 750 seat food court, 'my funland' kids play area and fashion precinct on Level 1.
Project Stages - how the centre was developed:
Stage 1 & Multi-Deck Car Park
Stage 1 of the Merrylands redevelopment opened in November 2008, which saw the addition of Kmart and Target discount department stores and 18 specialty stores.
Following on from Stage 1, saw the opening of a brand new multi-deck car park in mid 2009, providing customers with approximately 2,000 car spaces.
Stages 2a & 2b
The first section of Stage 2 opened in May 2010, including approximately 18 general merchandise and service stores.
The remainder of Stage 2 opened in September 2010, increasing the retail offering to over 90 specialty stores; including a new Fashion precinct, 750 seat Food Court and basement car park.
Stage 3 & 3b
Stage 3 of the redevelopment opened on Thursday, 31 March 2011, adding a brand new Franklins supermarket, JB Hi Fi, brand new amenities, new mall entrance off McFarlane Street and approximately 35 specialty shops, increasing the number of retail stores to over 130.
Stage 3b of the redevelopment opened on Wednesday, 30 November 2011, adding a brand new Coles supermarket and Liquorland, a further 300 car spaces and a vehicle entry and exit from Pitt Street. Stage 4
The final stage of the project, Stage 4, opened in October 2012. The final opening included the opening of Woolworths, Big W, a fresh food precinct and over 60 specialty stores. A new Centre entrance and park constructed off Neil Street; and some terrific new retailer including Rebel Sport, Best & Less, The Reject Shop, Daiso Japan and many more opened.
