Retail Opportunities

100 per cent committed to the growth of retail in Australia.

Over the past three years Stockland has developed seven shopping centres in key development areas adding 347 new specialty stores and over 90,000 square metre of  additional floor space. Our extensive retail development pipeline is well under way with even more planned in major growth corridors.

Townsville

With the community of Townsville crying out for a unique fashion offering, development is in full swing to redefine shopping in Townsville. Fashion powerhouse Myer is joining us to open their first ever department store in the area, along with the latest concept Woolworths supermarket and an additional 55 new specialty stores. The redevelopment will entice shoppers with a stylish new contemporary food precinct, interactive my funlandTM play area and state of the art parent's rooms. Development has already commenced with Stage 1 due to open in December 2011 including the new Woolworths and fresh food precinct, followed by Myer, a higher-end fashion mall and food court in mid 2012. The final stage of the development, also due for completion in 2012 will include fashion and general merchandise.  Download Townsville fact sheet (pdf 466kb).

Merrylands

Located 21 kilometres west of the Sydney CBD, Stockland Merrylands has serviced the local community for almost 40 years. The area has a growing population with the redevelopment capturing the growth in retail expenditure. The centre is revitalising the retail hub of Merrylands and will offer an optimal retail mix including Coles, Franklins and Woolworths supermarkets, Kmart, Target, Big W & approximately eight mini majors, 220 specialty stores and a Youth Fashion Precinct. With convenience and customer amenity in mind it will be serviced by a 750 seat food court and multi deck car park.  Download Merrylands fact sheet (pdf 470kb).

Shellharbour

Located approximately 20 kilometres south of the Wollongong CBD in NSW, is one of the largest centres in the Illawarra region. It's the centre that's ready to shine and upon completion of the redevelopment will boast a new two level Myer department store, Target, Kmart, Coles and Woolworths, over 200 specialty stores, an expanded fresh food market, a City Square with alfresco dining, state of the art parent's rooms and an interactive my funlandTM play area. The redevelopment of Stockland Shellharbour will almost double the size of the existing centre, creating the only major regional shopping centre between Miranda, Campbelltown and Canberra.
