Ken is a Chartered Surveyor with over 25 years experience in UK commercial property. His career in property spans both public and private sectors. As Property Investment Manager from 1983 with Scottish Provident and Aberdeen Asset Managers he was responsible for an active UK property portfolio worth £500 million with annual purchases and sales of more than £100 million. Ken joined the Board of Halladale in 1998 as Property Director and built the original portfolio up to £1 billion of assets and a large development portfolio of £750 million with annual trading activity at £500 million. He set up with the team many major Joint Venture relationships with partners including Citigroup, La Salle and HBoS. Ken and the team took Halladale onto the AIM market and further grew the business to a market cap of over £100million. Following Stockland's acquisition of Halladale he assumed the role of Joint Managing Director, becoming sole Managing Director in 2008. Stockland UK is involved in the asset management of major retail and office investments throughout the UK and also has a considerable mixed use development programme that it is pursuing and will deliver when market conditions improve.

Mark graduated from Glasgow University in 1980 and is a Chartered Accountant. After 6 years in the accountancy profession, he joined Caltrust Limited (which became part of Sheraton Caltrust plc), a Scottish based property development company in 1986 and was involved in many development projects throughout the UK. In 1990 he joined Edinburgh Development and Investment Limited, the property development arm of Edinburgh District Council. Mark joined the Board of Halladale as Finance Director in 1995.
