Stockland's community investment program has been developed with our employees and is an important way for us to support their interests, as well as contribute to communities where we operate.

Our community strategy

Community Partnerships - working with our Community Development team to identify organisations and initiatives that will make a real difference to the communities around our assets and development projects.

Mentoring opportunities - continuing to expand our student mentoring programs, such as those run with the Australian Business Community Network, Beacon Foundation and Partnership Brokers in conjunction with The Smith Family.

Supporting our employees - giving our people the flexibility to support those charities and community groups they feel most passionate about.

Workplace giving program
Workplace giving is a simple, convenient and highly effective way to support a charity that employees are passionate about. At Stockland employees can donate a small amount of pre-tax income to a charity of their choice through our workplace giving program. Stockland then dollar matches each contribution (up to $5,000 per annum).

Student mentoring
Stockland is a proud partner of the Australian Business & Community Network (ABCN), a partnership of national business leaders and companies who participate in student mentoring and coaching programs. The ABCN focus on education and improving opportunities for students from disadvantaged schools. Students are mentored on topics including effective communication, budgeting, career choices, literacy skills and building confidence. We also work with Beacon Foundation and Partnership Brokers in conjunction with The Smith Family on mentoring programs.

Team volunteering
Stockland provides opportunities for employees to participate in team volunteering days. Increasingly we are working with our community partners to provide skilled volunteering opportunities for Stockland employees to use their professional skills in a volunteering capacity. At Stockland we encourage all business units to take a team volunteering day during the year. Not only is this an opportunity to provide much need support to a local charity, it can also prove to be a wonderful team building exercise for all involved.

Personal volunteering
Stockland employees are also entitled to take two days per year to volunteer with a charity of their choice. In the past our employees have donated their time to a range of exciting and diverse charities including selling daffodils on Daffodil Day for the Cancer Council, packing Christmas hampers for the Smith Family and looking after animals at the RSPCA.
