Residents and visitors to Western Sydney enjoyed an international culinary delight on Friday, 2 June when Stockland Elara hosted to the popular Aussie NightMarkets.
Aussie NightMarkets is a moving food market popping up in more and more Sydney locations to offer locals a taste of exciting flavours from around the world.

Stockland’s Elara community held grand opening celebrations for its first Aussie NightMarkets on Friday, 2 June.

Hundreds of families from within the growing community and surrounding suburbs enjoyed the festive night out, which turned out to be the biggest launch event for the markets.

The inaugural Aussie NightMarkets at Elara, ran until 10pm and featured more than 70 food and retail stalls, free family entertainment, a photo station, amusement rides, live DJ and much more.

It is expected the Aussie NightMarkets at Elara will become a regular monthly treat for Western Sydney.

As part of the opening event, Stockland also give people the chance to win one of five $100 Visa Cards by snapping a photograph on the night and uploading it to the website, Instagram or Facebook page.

Richard Rhydderch, Stockland General Manager, NSW Residential Development, said the Aussie NightMarkets experience would bring an exciting new dimension to life at Elara.

He said the open invitation for people in surrounding suburbs to attend will also provide visitors with a taste of the quality of Elara’s masterplan and abundant, green, public open spaces that are a signature of one of Sydney’s newest suburbs.

“The street eats phenomenon is rapidly growing in popularity and being able to bring this international culinary experience to the local community on a regular basis is great news,” Mr Rhydderch said.

“Bao, BBQ, Spanish Papusa, Filipino Skewers, Paella, Indian curries, Chinese food, sushi, hot dogs, dumplings, paella and Vietnamese are just some examples of the huge array of food available,” he said.

“To top things off, there will also be a dedicated dessert section with ice cream, gourmet candyfloss, churros, waffles, pancakes and more.”

More than 400 people are now living at Elara, with hundreds more homes under construction. Elara features a 40-home Display Village, proving the perfect inspiration for anyone seeking a brand new home boasting the latest trends in interior design, and the community’s first school, St Luke’s Catholic College, opened in January this year.
