Mums who visit the Willowdale Display Village on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th May can look forward to receiving some yummy treats for Mother’s Day thanks to an exciting free cookie giveaway.

Bring a picnic and come and celebrate the amazing work that mothers do with live music, a pampering station and kids entertainment on Saturday 13th May. Willowdale is also helping to spread the love by organising a cake and cookie decorator to bake hundreds of heart-shaped shortbread biscuits which will be available for mums who are residents of Willowdale or visiting the community on Saturday, 13th May and Sunday 14th May.

The free cookies, which are being gift wrapped in pairs, are being decorated in pink and white and each one will have a flower on them. As a special feature, one of the cookies in the gift bags will have the word Mum etched on it.

The picnic event starts at 11am - 1pm on Saturday 13th May and the yummy treats can be collected from Willowdale’s Sales and Information Centre and Display Village on 13th and 14th May between 10am and 3pm or until stock runs out.

The cookies are the creation of Ebanie Menon, a mum and resident at Willowdale.

Mrs Menon, who operates Eclare Cakes and Cookies from her Willowdale home, spent several weeks preparing for the massive bake off which requires tonnes of flour, butter and icing mixture, plus a creative finishing touch.
“This is the biggest cookie job request I have had and I am really enjoying it, despite my kitchen being covered in flour most of the day,’’ laughed Mrs Menon. “I was so delighted when Stockland asked me to bake the cookies. This is such a wonderful initiative and I am proud to be associated with it.’’
