New homeowners are looking to the future with the purchase of larger than average homes at Stockland Augustine Heights on the rise.

David Laner, Regional Manager at Stockland, said there had been a 44 per cent increase in the number of two-storey building approvals at Stockland Augustine Heights in the past 12 months, with house sizes increasing by an average of 61 square metres.

Mr Laner  said the trend for larger family homes maximised the potential of the larger lots on offer in the community.

“We offer a wide variety of lot sizes to suit all lifestyles and budgets and our larger home sites have been generating strong interest from families who are looking for extra space to grow,” Mr Laner said.

"These large blocks ensure homeowners have the space to accommodate lots of family extras such as dual living areas, rumpus rooms, an outdoor pool, and, as we’re now seeing, guest suites, while still enjoying the great sense of community and proximity to services and facilities.”

Matt Ward, Regional Sales Manager for Metricon, said that the growing family demographic was the key driver behind the trend for ‘super sizing’ new homes.

“We’ve seen a definite trend of buyers requesting a guest suite downstairs as well as keeping four bedrooms upstairs,” Mr Ward said.

“Families moving in to these homes are looking to the future and want to know their home will still cater for their needs in 10, or even 20 years’ time.

“They have bigger budgets and are willing to invest in their new home to make sure it meets all their requirements.”

The latest land release at Stockland Augustine Heights has seen buyers acting quickly to secure large lots that have averaged 800 square metres.

A limited number of home sites are still available, ranging from 448 square metres to 1091 square metres, with prices ranging from $263,900 to $413,150.

Stockland Augustine Heights is a popular, established community that will eventually comprise more than 1,000 homes on the 183 hectare site.

Close to amenities and well connected to Ipswich, Brisbane and the Gold Coast, the community benefits from more than 47ha of open space and is popular with families seeking a semi-rural lifestyle.
