Prehistoric-themed dinosaur park to call Stockland's Aura home!

Stockland’s vibrant outdoor offerings continue to grow with construction soon to commence on a brand new dinosaur-themed park in Aura’s suburb of Nirimba.

The brand new park – yet to be officially named – will feature a giant ‘Aura-saurus’ dinosaur play piece for children to swing and slide on, including a climbable neck and tail.

A series of mini dino-eggs have been creatively placed for younger children to explore, while older kids can uncover unique fossil designs in the archaeological digging pit.
The recreational area is set to become a social hotspot with barbeques, hammocks, restrooms and picnic shelters available for local events and community use.

The new park will be delivered in two stages, with the green recreational offering expected to be open by mid-2022, while the second stage – which includes the play elements, barbecues and shelters – is proposed to be completed by late 2022.

The addition forms part of the ever-growing Aura park trail – a network of 15 uniquely themed interconnected parks located throughout the community – and continues to fulfil the project’s vision to have a park within 400 metres of every home.

Hannah Madill, Senior Development Manager at Stockland Aura, said the prehistoric-themed park is highly anticipated by residents and locals alike.

“As our community grows, it’s encouraging to be able to offer our residents another exciting interactive play space, where imaginations can run wild with prehistoric adventures,” Ms Madill said.

Stockland’s Aura is home to a number of popular parks including the Pedal Park, a bike-themed playground surrounded by bike tracks and featuring a tunnel, speed bumps, road signage and traffic lights, and a skate and scooter plaza for all skill levels from micro-groms to intermediate and advanced riders.

The suburb of Nirimba also houses the Fig Tree Park, which features a flying fox, climbing wall, climbing reeds, picnic shelters, barbecues and a half-court basketball court.

In addition to the 15 parks across the community, Aura’s 7,500 residents can ride along the signature cycling veloway and walking paths, with more being added all the time.
