What a difference a year makes - here's an aerial history of our first suburb, Baringa, coming to life.
Once complete, Aura’s first suburb Baringa will include a total of over 1,500 home sites, two schools and a childcare centre. There'll be village shopping and dining facilities, two community centres, sports fields and a community clubhouse. In addition, a range of local parks and playgrounds, a skate park, 10 hectares of recreational parkland and a network of pathways and dedicated veloways will make Baringa the perfect place to live an active lifestyle.
MAY 2018
Construction is well underway on Baringa's civic square and youth activity plaza, featuring the community's first skate park. Works have also begun on the childcare centre, which will feature a 952m2 outdoor play space and provide a ground-breaking approach to early learning education.
The Aura Business Park continues to progress well, with the first businesses anticipated to open in early 2019.
Nearly 1000 home are now complete, with 10 families a week moving into the community.
FEBRUARY 2018
Baringa State Primary School opened in January 2018, with works on the adjoining sportsfields well underway.
Families are making the most of the easy school run - the majority of Baringa State School's students walk or ride to school.
The above average rainfall over January and February has continued to keep the site lush and green.

By December 2017, Baringa had a total of 727 finished homes ready for families to move into. The construction of new homes is moving at a staggering pace with an average of three homes completed every day.
The sports fields and Frog Park are under construction, and the staff and teachers at Baringa State Primary School are making preparations to open the school's doors.
New residents have also been able to enjoy the lush surrounding bushland, which had greened up after very little rainfall through out the winter months.

With the launch of the Display Village in August, the Sales and Vision Centre also came to life. Complete with the popular Izba Espresso, brand new Tree House Playground and Pedal Park, the community is a buzz with excited families.

As we neared closer to the launch of the Display Village, 24 of Australia's leading builders were busy finishing off what would become 40 homes on display.
Baringa State School is beginning to take shape, and works on the sports fields and Main St are underway.
APRIL 2017
Pedal Park is nearly complete, and the Sales & Information Centre & cafe have arrived onsite are are getting ready to open their doors.

The first stage of the Bells Creek Arterial has connected through to Baringa. Construction has commenced on the first display village, Baringa State Primary School and the Pedal Park. The first homes in the community are starting to take shape!

The first home sites are approaching registration, with asphalt being laid in the first stages. Lamerough Creek Bridge is ready to open.
