Baringa means summit and is a word from the Kabi Kabi language, and has been chosen to pay tribute to the indigenous heritage of the site.

The Baringa community will eventually feature:

  • 1,585 home sites
  • 2 schools and a childcare centre
  • Village shopping and dining facilities
  • 2 community centres
  • Sports fields and community clubhouse
  • A range of local parks and playgrounds
  • 10 hectares of recreational parkland
  • Network of pathways and dedicated veloways
