Aura has cemented its place as Australia's top masterplanned community for land sales, new figures reveal.

Aura, the first new community in Australia to be designed and constructed to the world’s highest environmental and sustainability standards, posted 759 sales in 2018, according to the latest National Land Survey Program (NLSP) data.

The result also means that 45 per cent of all new land sales on the Sunshine Coast in 2018 occurred at Aura.

Josh Sondergeld, Aura Project Director for Stockland, said the strong interest from buyers demonstrated that Aura’s vision is resonating with the community.

“Aura stands alone in terms of its wide range of new home options and the early delivery of extraordinary community facilities, including a STEM primary school, sports park, skate and scooter park, civic square, five local parks and the Aura veloway,” Mr Sondergeld said.

Several local roads have also been upgraded and the first business in the Aura Business Park is now open.

“Our vision is for Aura to become Australia’s most sustainable and liveable city and the demand from buyers is a recognition of this vision and the delivery of community infrastructure early in the life of the community.” Mr Sondergeld said.

“From innovative terrace homes, to lots of more than 600 square metres and brand new home and land packages, the community offers an exceptional and diverse range of housing solutions to suit buyers from all walks of life.

“Aura continues to welcome up to 10 new families every week to its first suburb of Baringa, and our next suburb, Aura Central, is now open to the public.”

Aura Central will be the future heart of Aura and feature a 90-hectare City Centre, the extensive People’s Place parkland and a range of education and sporting facilities.

Aura is the largest masterplanned community ever undertaken in Australia under single ownership and more than 20,000 new homes will be created on the 24 square kilometre site over the next 30 years.

Aura celebrates more milestones this year with construction of the first shopping centre and tavern in Baringa now underway.
