Our team have been busily working away in the background securing all of the necessary approvals to commence the bulk earthworks for the rest of the site.

Hall Contracting have now been appointed to complete these works and will be underway within the next month.

The first phase of earthworks will be focused in the south west corner of the site in preparation for delivery of Stage 1 home sites. The works will include installation of drainage infrastructure adjacent to Nicklin Way, stripping of the existing preload pad and levelling the area ready for civil construction to commence later this year.

The first phase of earthworks will also include excavation of the lake, which will ultimately connect to the greater Lake Kawana under a new Nicklin Way bridge. This will provide a unique opportunity for residents to access Lake Kawana with kayaks, SUPs and other paddle craft from the beachside of Nicklin Way. When complete, the lake will have a small pebble beach that can be used as a launch facility. The new bridge will also provide a pedestrian walkway under Nicklin Way, allowing residents to walk to the future Town Centre without needing to cross busy roads.

Over the coming weeks you may also notice some preliminary works along the Nicklin Way frontage to the Bokarina Beach site, including temporary location of overhead power lines. This is in preparation for the Nicklin Way upgrade works that are planned to commence in mid 2017. Stockland are working closely with the Department of Transport and Main Roads, Council, Unitywater, Energex and Telstra to finalise the detailed design and approvals to upgrade this section of the road. More information will be provided closer to the start of works.
