More than 115 people have signed up to free fitness classes that were launched in Stockland’s residential Newport community.

Live Life Get Active personal trainers are currently putting Moreton Bay locals through their paces every weekday morning at Newport Park with boxing, cross training and yoga classes.

The Live Life Get Active program at Newport is sponsored by Stockland and is the brainchild of former Olympian and Commonwealth Games champion Jane Flemming, which aims to get Australians fitter, happier and healthier.

David Laner, Regional Manager for Stockland, said that he was delighted to see so many residents and visitors coming along to the free fitness classes.

“Stockland believes in creating communities that inspire residents to lead an active and healthy lifestyle,” Mr Laner said.

“It’s encouraging to hear that so many local people are coming along to the Live Life Get Active classes and making the most of this opportunity to get outside and get active."

Mr Laner said that the active lifestyle on offer in the Redcliffe Peninsula is proving to be a big drawcard for buyers who are snapping up land in the Newport community.

“Newport is ideally located for those who are interested in water sports, walking, and cycling,” Mr Laner said.

“The community will also be next door to the new Nathan Road sporting precinct, which will include a senior-grade AFL field, multi-purpose field, clubhouse, playground and dedicated wetland.”
