Pilpel Express cafe opens for takeaway
After a great success with his Redcliffe Restaurant Pilpel on the Water, chef and owner Adiel Ben Karmona and his team are excited to revive the beloved Izba cafe as Pilpel Express in Newport.
A local resident himself, Adiel’s second Pilpel location has opened with a special takeaway menu for breakfast and lunch during the COVID-19 restrictions.
Located on Lakeview Promenade, the new middle eastern-inspired menu caters to a range of dietary needs and includes a wide variety of cuisines including kofta, shish kebabs, pizza, pasta, burgers and healthy salads.
Adiel said he wanted to keep dining options available for locals during COVID-19 and provide a refreshing takeaway option for this in isolation. “It’s tough times for everyone at the moment, but I wanted to do what I could to keep staff employed and offer options for those in our community who are unable to prepare food for themselves.”
