Eight community groups in the Moreton Bay Regional Council area will share in $8,000 worth of funding as recipients of the 2018 Stockland CARE Grants program awarded on behalf of Stockland’s Newport waterfront community.
The grants will help Newport Waterways Property Owners Association, Redcliffe Peninsula Surf Life Saving Club, Humpybong State School P&C Association,
The Breakfast Club Redcliffe, Peninsula Padres Baseball Club, Australian Volunteer Coast Guard Association – Redcliffe, Hope Care Services, and the Lions
Club of Samford secure vital equipment and provide ongoing services to the region.
Each will receive $1,000 to assist with the delivery of community-led programs and services which are aimed at creating more inclusive and engaging neighbourhoods.
Now in its fifth year, the Stockland CARE Grants program has donated over $1 million to more than 1,000 community groups across Australia. More than $270,000 has been awarded to almost 300 local organisations this year alone.
David Laner, Acting Queensland General Manager for Residential at Stockland, said the Stockland CARE Grants had been designed to assist organisations in their valuable contributions to their local communities.
“Community groups are the backbone of local areas, as people and volunteers work tirelessly behind the scenes to assist others,” Mr Laner said.
“They deliver a range of much-needed services and we are pleased to be able to support them with this funding.
“During the application process each group demonstrated how they would use the grant. We’re looking forward to seeing their funding make a difference.”
Michael Rosmarin, Chief Operating Officer at Stockland, said the program was designed to acknowledge the dedication and commitment of community groups whose valued work is an essential part of creating thriving communities.
“We are passionate about our purpose to create ‘a better way to live’ and have a long-standing commitment to work with the community, building vibrant places for people to shop, work and live, now and into the future,” Mr Rosmarin said.
