Stockland’s Sovereign Pocket community in Deebing Heights is one of the top five hotspots in south-east Queensland for interstate buyers, according to new figures from Queensland’s largest residential developer.

Stockland has revealed the top locations for interstate purchases in the 2017 financial year, with Sovereign Pocket named fourth highest in the state.

Mountain Creek on the Sunshine Coast was the most popular location, followed by North Lakes in Brisbane’s north and Vale at Holmview in Logan.

Kingsley Andrew, Queensland General Manager for Residential Communities at Stockland, said interstate buyers looking for new homes in Queensland were targeting affordable, high growth corridors in the state’s south-east.

“As the state’s largest residential developer, we are well placed to identify which regions are most appealing to interstate buyers looking for land, house and land packages, townhomes or completed new homes,” he said.

The Stockland analysis shows New South Wales was the largest source of buyers, representing approximately two thirds of interstate purchases in Stockland’s south-east Queensland communities.

Victorian buyers accounted for a further 13 per cent of interstate purchases, followed by South Australia (7 per cent) and Western Australia (5 per cent).

Mr Andrew said interstate buyers included both owner occupiers looking to relocate to Queensland and investors looking for better value for money than they could get in other markets.

“For example, we currently have land available at our Sovereign Pocket community in the Ipswich corridor starting at only $155,900, and house and land packages priced from $337,496,” he said.

“It is no surprise that interstate buyers looking for affordable, high quality new homes and an appealing lifestyle close to all services are turning their attention to Queensland.”

Sovereign Pocket also achieved one of the highest scores in the country in the latest Stockland Liveability Index, with a rating of 87 per cent.

The annual survey was conducted between January and March 2017 in partnership with leading research specialists, Colmar Brunton. It measures the liveability of 40 communities nationally, with more than 2,500 residents taking part in last year’s survey.

The Stockland Liveability Index represents how satisfied residents are living in a Stockland community while providing key insights for cities.

Sovereign Pocket is located in Brisbane’s western growth corridor and has easy access to the Centenary and Cunningham Highways, the RAAF base at Amberley and all the facilities of central Ipswich, the Ripley Valley and Springfield.

The community appeals to buyers of all budgets due to the variety of homes available and enviable lifestyle on offer, with natural surrounds, kilometres of cycling and walking paths, wide streets and access to free outdoor fitness sessions five days a week during school terms.
