Book your seat on the FREE Community Bus at Mt Atkinson & Grandview

Stockland, the Caroline Springs RSL and Edmund Rice Services Mt Atkinson are delighted to announce that a FREE Community Bus service to help you get to and from Rockbank Train Station is currently operating at Grandview.

Please read all the information below before booking your seat.



Bus Services 

There are three morning and three afternoon services from Monday to Friday, every week of the school term (excluding public holidays).


Bus Stop Locations


Mt Atkinson bus stop - Grizzly Bear Park (Appalacian Street)
Grandview bus stop - Dinosaur Park (Altezze Drive)

*If it is raining, you are welcome to wait under the shelter at your local park until the bus arrives.


Bus Route

Morning Services: The first pick-up location is at Grizzly Bear Park and the second is at Dinosaur Park. The bus will then drive to Rockbank Train Station to drop passengers off, and return to Grizzly Bear Park to repeat this route.

Evening Services: Residents will be collected at Rockbank Train Station and driven to Dinosaur Park, and then dropped-off at Grizzly Bear Park.

Booking your Seat

Follow these instructions to reserve your seat:

1. Create an Eventbrite account here
2. Click on the Community Bus event page, here
3. Click on the 'Select A Date' button
4. Click on 'Tickets' button corresponding to the date you wish to travel
5. Find the departure time you wish to book
6. Select the number of seats you require
7. Await a confirmation email from Eventbrite
8. Show your e-ticket on your phone/device to the driver as you hop aboard

Your ticket will be emailed to you or you can save your ticket by downloading and storing it in the Eventbrite app.

Once you have created an Eventbrite account you can ‘like’ the Community Bus event page so that it can be easily found for future bookings.

 

Important information:

- There is a maximum of 5 passengers per service to enable adequate distancing. 
- The Community Bus is available for children 4 years and over that are supervised by a parent, secondary school aged students and adults
- Children aged 4-7 years old must sit in a booster seat provided by the bus
- Passenger pickup and drop off will only be available at the designated bus stops
- Seatbelts must be worn at all times
- Food is not to be consumed on the bus
- The Community Bus does not have aided access for wheelchairs to be loaded on or off the vehicle. Theo the driver can provide an extra step for those needing any additional assistance
- The Community Bus cannot wait for passengers who are running late to ensure the bus meets its planned schedule
- Bookings are mandatory: the bus driver will have the final list of passenger names for each service to coordinate the best approach to manage any booking discrepancies
- If you no longer require a seat, please be sure to cancel your booking so that other passengers can book in
- Please book seats for passengers in your household only (including 4 – 7 year old children)
- Service route may change to accommodate potential road works
- There is a limited amount of space available on the bus so please avoid bringing large luggage such as a bike or suitcases. Collapsible scooters are suitable.
- Should Theo be concerned about any behaviours being displayed by a passenger, he has the authority to prevent them from boarding the service
- If the bus breaks down, Theo and Edmund Rice Services Mt Atkinson will manage a contingency plan which may involve passengers having to find their own means of transport

COVID-19 Safety Guidelines 

- It is mandatory for all passengers to be double vaccinted for Covid-19 and a mask must be worn while on the bus (unless you have a special exemption).
- For the safety of all passengers, please do not board the bus if you are feeling unwell or have even the mildest symptoms.
- It is mandatory to scan the bus's QR code and show the bus driver your double vaccination certificate/medical exemption (on your phone or printed piece of paper)as you board the bus.
- Your bus driver Theo is fully vaccinated for Covid-19.
