The announcement of The Grove's 5 Star Green Star rating is really exciting for The Grove residents as it means they're living in one of the most sustainable and environmentally friendly communities in the country.
The Grove - A Green, Eco-Friendly, Sustainable Community
The Grove in Tarneit received a highly coveted 5 Star Green Star- Communities rating from the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA). The 5 star rating signifies Australian excellence in sustainable design and environmental responsibility, while also recognising the potential for future economic prosperity and liveability within the community.
Romily Madew, CEO of the Green Building Council of the Australia said: "Stockland also deserves recognition for undertaking significant environmental rehabilitation at The Grove, which extends to the construction of two tunnels that allow Growling Grass Frogs to cross beneath a busy road intersection.”
CEO and Managing Director of Stockland Mark Steinert said "Home buyers are increasingly interested in understanding and making informed decisions about the sustainability of new residential developments. The Green Star – Communities rating uses a comprehensive scorecard to provide customers with a simple, straightforward means of assessing the sustainability of new communities.”
"We're in the business of building healthy, smart connected communities" said Mr Steinert.
The Grove provides residents with convenient access to new and existing infrastructure, such as nearby schools, retail and employment precincts and just a few minutes’ drive from the new Tarneit Train Station, which provides a direct 31 kilometre commute to the Melbourne CBD.
When complete, The Grove will have a Town Centre with a supermarket and a range of specialty stores. A primary and secondary school are planned for the community, along with a community centre, sports fields and a potential retirement village.
