Great news for local Eglinton families with the Alkimos College local intake area set to include Amberton Beach.

The college which is currently under construction will open in 2020 and accommodate 250 year 7 students. The school will grow to include years 7 to 12 by 2025, accommodating approximately 2000 students.

Alkimos College is one of only sixteen schools chosen to have a Specialised Autism Spectrum Disorder Learning Program, plus will also be an academic extension pathway for gifted students. 

The college is located on the corner of Santorini Promenade and Hollington Boulevard and will be built in stages. Construction of Stage 1 is well underway and includes state of the art classrooms, specialist science laboratories, food and textiles studios, gymnasium, library, design technology workshops, administration and student services. Students will enjoy an extensive cafeteria, landscaped courtyards and multipurpose playing courts. 

Stage 2 will include additional learning areas, visual arts, performing arts and dance, music and media classrooms, fitness centre, mechatronics and a lecture theatre and is proposed to be completed by 2024.
