Stockland has further strengthened its commitment to the local WA arts community with the sponsorship of the State's premier local art event, The Minnawarra Art Awards

Proudly activated by the City of Armadale, the 2021 Minnawarra Art Awards will this year celebrate its 24th anniversary by showcasing the works of 123 artists, 24 of which are from the local area. Curated by Ron Nyisztor, this year’s exhibition promises views an exhibition showcasing high calibre and diverse artworks.

Col Dutton, Stockland WA General Manager Residential, said the Minnawarra Art Awards present an opportunity to support an initiative that connects the community through the universal language or art.

“At Stockland we aim to create places where communities thrive and that places the wellbeing of our residents at the centre of what we do. We understand the importance of arts and culture and the role the industry plays in connecting communities together.

“Through the support of the Minnawarra Art Awards, we’re able to provide our communities, including the local Sienna Wood community, with the opportunity to connect, learn and engage together through an accessible exhibition.”

This year’s Minnawarra Art Awards welcome several nationally recognised artists to display their creations in what is one of the most exciting line ups in the awards’ history.

In addition to the changes implemented, this year’s Awards total prize pool has been increased to $25,000, with the overall prize being a $12,000 acquisition award for the City of Armadale Art Collection.
