Since 2013, Stockland has been supporting local groups and organisations working to improve the lives of residents in and around our communities. Our annual Community Grants program is run throughout Australia, across our residential communities, retirement villages and shopping centres. This year, we awarded over $300,000 to over 300 recipients across the country.

In 2017 our Retirement Living team awarded $76,000 in grants and to celebrate, we welcomed  the winners into our villages for a special morning tea and cheque presentation.

At Castle Ridge Resort Correna Walters – Director and Antoinette Joyce – President and Annie Bradley – Fundraising Coordinator, Mici Beer – Service Manager and John McQuarrie – Convenor of CarPal  joined in the festivities. Sun Valley Preschool Kindergarden and The Hills Community Aid & information  were presented with a giant cheque by Courtney Raven, Village Manager. Sun Valley Preschool Kindergarten and The Hills Community Aid & information were thrilled to receive the much needed funds.

Sun Valley is a non-profit kindergarten for children aged 3 to 5 and this grant has meant we were able to purchase new equipment for the children. We strongly believe that children learn through play and we have purchased equipment called Kidantics Water Play and this equipment requires children to use their problem solving skills while having fun either playing with water or balls. We specifically chose Castle Ridge as we believe the older generation have much that they can teach our younger generation. We look forward to continuing our Relationship with the Village and thank Stockland so much for this grant. The kids love their new equipment! Thank you!

The presentation was followed by a delicious morning tea, provided by the residents and team at Castle Ridge Resort.

Community is so important in both the village and outside our gates too. Our residents are very proud to attend the presentations and hear from our grant winners about how these grants help the organisations to which have been awarded. A real sense of pride comes across them from knowing they live in a village which has helped to support the great things that happen in our community. Not only does it make them proud but it offers further connections for them outside of the village. It is great to see the effect first hand these grants have on our winners.

A fun time was had by all, with everyone eager to see how the grant funding will benefit Sun Valley Preschool Kindergarden and The Hills Community Aid & information. Stay tuned for an update!

The Stockland Community Grants applications have closed for 2017. Register your group’s interest for our next round.
