Need to grab some groceries? Or perhaps it’s some retail therapy you’re after? Stockland Forster Shopping Centre is the go-to for our residents, less than 3km down the road from our village.

This shopping centre offers our residents contemporary retail stores, fresh groceries, health services, entertainment and dining all under the one roof. Namely, there’s major retailers including Aldi, Coles, Kmart and Woolworths. Plus with over 50 retail stores you’ll never find yourself short of fresh milk and bread, a good bottle of wine or a script refill. Oh and guess what, they have a Bunnings – who doesn’t love strolling the isle of Bunnings!

Start your day out with a coffee or lunch catchup, a spot of shopping or even treat yourself to some fresh nails. Whether it’s the necessities or recreation, shopping centres have so much to offer!

We all know how important it is to remain active, no matter what one’s age or ability is. Only 4.9km down the road, everyone at Golden Ponds can do just that at the Great Lakes Aquatic Centre. 

Why not grab a friend and get into the yoga zone, lift some bells in the gym or work out in an aerobics class – everyone has their own preference, so this centre is perfect. Take it at your own pace, it’s totally up to you. While exercise is important for our health, it’s also a great way to stay connected with friends or make new ones! Maybe today you might head on down for a swim and stay back for a chat.

What better way to kick start your day than the ‘Forster Way’?! Head just 5.3km to Beach Bums Cafe to experience the Forster Way - a scrumptious breakfast brought to you from their very own garden overlooking Forster’s Main Beach and the Pacific Ocean. Ah, we can just feel that morning ocean breeze and picture that view now!

Enjoyed one too many treats? Well that’s ok, just take a nice stroll to finish off your morning before heading home for an afternoon rest or siesta – why not!? Oh, and we hear from Dee that shoes are optional... how laidback!

Don’t want to feel the crowd of a typical course? Lucky for you, Tuncurry Golf Club is less than 9km up the road from our village. A course designed to make you feel tucked away from the hustle and bustle means you can focus on your game and enjoy more time with your mates and less time with crowds. Plus, did you know that this club is actually two clubs in one?! Offering visitors and members two courses and two clubhouses doubles the fun we hear!

There’s a membership for all, so why not join a league and try your luck in a competition or simply head out for a hit on your own for some ‘me time’. Whatever you decide, locals say you’ll have a great time.

Make sure you pop into Buko’s Bistro before teeing off, so you can fuel up with a quick bite or enjoy refuelling after your game. Sit back, take in the views of the Pacific Ocean and have some banter with your mates, what a great day out!
