While the residents at The Willows Retirement Village love to get out and about in the wider community, they also love taking advantage of the amenities and social activities right on their doorstep – and why wouldn’t they!
With an exclusive clubhouse, heated swimming pool and spa, billiards room, hairdresser, amphitheatre, dining room and gym, as well as the ever-popular Coffee Pot cafe, there’s certainly plenty of spaces to enjoy. Plus, with a thriving activities calendar including social events, clubs, exercise classes, happy hour and more – you could never get bored!

Who doesn’t love a good game of bingo? Each Wednesday, around 12 residents get together after lunch for a sociable game. Bingo is a great way to keep your mind active and healthy, and as a bonus, there are some fabulous prizes up for grabs for the winner! Prizes vary from week to week, so you could walk out with anything from a coffee voucher to a free meal from the coffee shop.
Arts & Crafts
If you’ve got a passion for knitting, sewing, embroidering or crocheting, the craft group at The Willows is the perfect activity to join in on. Every week, a group of talented ladies, led by resident Wendy, gather together to share in their love of crafting. Working away is always better when you’re in the company of friends, and it’s also a great way to share your skills with others and maybe even picking up some new ones yourself.
At The Willows, we’re lucky to have a dedicated bus driver, Dennis, who runs regular bus outings for residents to enjoy. The route changes weekly, from Seven Hills to Baulkham Hills to Winston Hills, to provide great variety and a wider range of services and amenities for residents to enjoy. These regular outings are a great opportunity to pick up the essentials, attend appointments, partake in a spot of retail therapy or simply enjoy something sweet with your friends at one of the many cafes available.
When you’re craving a cuppa or a bite to eat, the convenience of an on-site coffee shop is hard to beat - as many of The Willows’ residents have found! With its position in the heart of the clubhouse, the Coffee Pot is a great place to meet before or after an activity and is often full of residents.
Every day, chef Mel, her daughter Kirra and staff member Michelle offer residents an array of home cooked delights for breakfast, lunch and morning and afternoon tea. If you’re not in the mood to cook, you can even get a delicious takeaway dinner to enjoy at home. Joyce strongly suggests trying the beef stroganoff and the carrot cake – yum!
For Joyce and a small group of friends, a regular game of Scrabble is a favourite way to get together and test their vocabulary. Scrabble even has plenty of brain training benefits, making it a great choice to stay sharp and mentally active. The game, organised by fellow resident Joan, can sometimes get a little competitive, so Joyce recommends bringing along a dictionary!
