In part 2 of our Retirement Living with pets series we chat to our resident Jill about her experience living at Willowdale Retirement Village with a pet.
Jill Legg is one of the many residents at our village with a pet and her pomeranian dog, Lily, is well loved in the village.

When it came time to downsizing from their family property, Jill and her husband had another family member to consider – their toy Pomeranian Lily. Luckily, Stockland’s Willowdale retirement village was indeed pet friendly and they knew it was what they wanted as soon as they walked in.

Watch the video below to find out more:

“We wouldn’t have come if it wasn’t pet friendly. This is one of the great things about this village - because we can bring them, nobody has to get rid of their pet.”

Since moving in over a year ago, Lily has become the princess of the village and Jill couldn’t be happier with how well the family has settled in. “She’s a people dog. You can’t say any more. I would walk her around the village and everyone wants to stop and pat her and she loves it. She gets so excited when she sees anybody”.

This is great news for the residents at Willowdale as downtime with dogs is known to lower blood pressure and improve cardiovascular health.

“She’s a constant companion and she can tell if there’s anything wrong with us or anything. I don’t know what I would do without her”.
