Newport is coming to life!

Move in this spring. 
Construction finishes soon and the first residents are moving in between August to September this year. 

Just before Summer arrives and time to settle in before Christmas.

April 2019

  • The Tower Crane has come down and marks a turning point into the home stretch

  • Almost all the scaffold has been removed, unveiling the design by Arkhefield, drive by and take a look!

  • Landscaping on the podium oasis is underway with the first trees establishing well

  • The views from the balconies over the lake and out to Moreton Bay are even better than we expected

  • The waterfall feature and swimming pool has been installed 

  • The Clubhouse is moving quickly with the bar and coffee lounge installation after the Easter break


March 2019 

  • Very exciting milestone this month with the scaffolding coming down you can now view the facade!  Come drive-by and take a look.

  • Lake is now full and the views are stunning

  • Clubhouse services to the bar, coffee lounge, billiards room and library are being connected

  • Kitchen installs have started

  • Pool and gardens started this month with the pool and planter boxes constructed 


February 2019

January 2019 

  • This month we were able to access the balconies and the views are better than we expected! 

  • The first part of the scaffolding has come down revealing a sneak peak of the external facade showing the colour finishes and architectural details

  • The parklands in front of the village is preparing for the landscaping and the playground has commenced install

  • Kitchens are going in!  Apartment kitchen joinery installed up to Level 2


December 2018

  • Stockland today celebrated the filling of Newport's centrepiece 22-hectare lake in a major milestone for the $590 million community on the Redcliffe Peninsula

  • An official ceremony was held on its banks to mark the $90 million lake's milestone, with one and a half billion litres of sea water ing flowed into the lake over the past three weeks


November 2018 (Topping Out)

  • This month saw a major milestone as the first building has reached its maximum height and topped out at six stories with the roof being installed now

  • Two apartment buildings will be built over the six levels, linked by a central, landscaped podium and more than 3500 square metres of green and outdoor recreation space

  • The local community can now get a true sense of the size of the village and you can imagine the views from the top floor overlooking the lake out to Moreton Bay.

November 2018

  • Installation of the steel roof across both buildings. A major milestone for the team and weather permitting, will be complete prior to the Christmas break 

  • Structural steel for the community centre has been designed, drafted and is now in production, with an anticipated delivery of just after the Christmas break.

  • The podium gardens will shortly start taking shape, with planters and the swimming pool on the radar for commencement in the new year

September 2018

  • Hutchinson Builders has had a very productive month on site 

  • Structural construction approaches the top floors of each building and preparing for the roof in November 2018

  • The primary focus in September 2018 is the completion of the structure across both buildings, as well as the introduction of the structural steel and roofing 

  • Great progress is being made on the ceilings and partitions 


July 2018

  • Construction of the new 22-hectare lake at Newport has passed the half-way mark with around 1,420,000 cubic metres of earth excavated from the site so far

  • Everyday more than two Olympic swimming pools of earth are removed from the lake site, which is due to be filled with two billion litres of sea water on completion

  • Construction on the lake is expected to be completed by mid-2019

  • It will provide beautiful water views for residents as they make the most of the future foreshore parks, footpaths, cycle ways and planned waterside retail and dining opportunities


February 2018  

  • Construction has officially started o the $69 million Newport community, especially designed for over 55's

  • Stockland Group Executive and CEO of Retirement Living Stephen Bull said: "today's retirees expect to live in beautiful places, enjoy a great lifestyle and demand a high level of services.

  • To celebrate the start of construction, Stockland wsa today joined by Yvette D'Ath, Queensland Attorney General and Member for Redcliffe for a tour of the site.

  • The Newport Retirement Village development is expected to create 130 construction jobs for the local region.
