Isabel Sassine joined the Stockland team in January 2017 and we have kept her busy with managing three Retirement Villages Unity, Salford and The Grange Retirement Villages.

Isabel’s largest village Unity, has over 158 residents, ranging from independent living through to Serviced Apartments where residents have their meals and cleaning provided.

Unity is a lovely village located in the heart of Aberfoyle Park minutes from a number of shopping and medical services.  Aesthetically the Village looks like a small hillside oasis surrounded with a lot of native vegetation and wild life. “Only a couple of weeks ago we had a fox happily snoozing in our gardens in the sunshine!” says Isabel.

There is lots to do at the village and Unity tries to cater for a full range of interests. There is the indoor bowls, a line dancing group, the craft group, a half court tennis court, regular BBQ gatherings, shared teas. The true benefit of a village size of Unity there are a lot of residents with varied interests and enough on offer.
For anyone considering the move into Unity Retirement Village Isabel’s top tip is “My top tip is to do their homework and look around.  Understand that a Retirement Village is about lifestyle. It’s about reducing isolation, building your networks and being part of a community, so you need to choose the right place for you.”

But Isabel is not all about work, outside work Isabel enjoys time with her kids and extended family; as well long 10km walks with friends. “We always have coffee and a snack afterwards” exclaims Isabel.

“I love my job” says Isabel “ Being able to walk around my sites and to be greeted by residents who are all genuinely happy to see me! Nothing gives me more of a buzz than making a difference in people’s lives.”

Our village are full of fun and wonderful characters, the other day one of my 99 year old female resident told me she enjoys our male Chef delivering her food because she may be old but she’s not dead. You go girl!” laughs Isabel.
