Stockland’s commitment to the community

Since 2013, Stockland has been supporting local groups and organisations working to improve the lives of residents in and around our communities. Our annual Community Grants program is run throughout Australia, across our residential communities, retirement villages and shopping centres.

This year, we awarded over $300,000 to over 300 recipients across the country.

In 2017 our Retirement Living team awarded $76,000 in grants and to celebrate, we welcomed  the winners into our villages for a special morning tea and cheque presentation.

At Arilla Village, over 50 attendees joined in the festivities. Plenty Valley Clubhouse and the Northern District Softball Association were presented with a giant cheque of $1,000 each by village manager, Karen Tripney.

Both groups were thrilled to receive the much needed funds.

“We are so grateful to have received the grant,” said Natasha Ngarua from the Plenty Valley Clubhouse. “Most families we work with don’t have funding to pay for therapy and face high out of pocket costs. This funding will help send families on holidays, with fun activities for the kids while parents get some time to relax.”

The presentation was followed by a delicious morning tea, provided by the residents and team at Arilla Village.

“Our residents are proud that we are so supportive of local groups,” adds Karen. “We have a resident with a special needs grandchild and she is thrilled to see an organisation that supports these families receive a grant.”

A fun time was had by all, with everyone eager to see how the grant funding will benefit both organisations. Stay tuned for an update!

The Stockland Community Grants applications have closed for 2017. Register your group’s interest for our next round.
