I’ve been with Stockland for three years and recently transitioned into sales at Bundoora Retirement Village after a long time in the legal team.

A day in the village for me is full – communicating with prospective new residents, attending village events, socialising with residents and performing ad hoc duties as they arise.

Bundoora Village is beautiful, with stunning gardens taken care of by our grounds staff. Socially, residents have so many options. The community village bus takes them on outings, we have a bowling green, a convenience store, hair salon and gym equipment – there’s hardly a reason to leave.

Residents can socialise in the lounge, café and bar areas – the perfect places to host guests.

We also have a hobby room, billiards, a library, movie nights and so much more.

It’s a caring and wonderful community of likeminded, friendly people.

There’s a common misconception among new visitors that retirement village = aged care facility, but they couldn’t be more wrong – all our residents live independently.

What the village provides is a sense of community and safety. It is great to see how much support and friendship there is among our residents.

If you’re thinking about moving to a retirement village, I say go for it! Embrace change, make the move and retire your way.
