It’s that time special time of the year when the community comes together to celebrate the joy of the festive season. Residents of Donvale Village share a range of seasonal activities guaranteed to get you in the holiday spirit.

This time of year about celebrating the warm sense of community at Donvale and providing an incredible array of opportunities for residents to get involved. The countdown to Christmas starts the first week of December when residents come together to decorate the community centre, and the festive wreaths are placed at the front doors.

During December we enjoy a traditional carolling night with the Salvation Army Choir. The residents committee organise volunteers every year to prepare the donations to the Salvation Army Food Hamper Collection and our Lions Club Christmas cake drive.

The highlight of our social calendar is our Village Christmas dinner and famous village review. You never know what crazy things the residents are going to do, it’s always huge fun and everyone has such as laugh.

Village Manager, Pauline Bates, spoke of her joy in seeing the community come together every Christmas. “The resident & staff Christmas dinner is always a very well attended and festive event where everyone comes together to enjoy traditional Christmas fare with all the trimmings, and to provide encouraging applause to a group of enthusiastic resident performers. It really is a fun and festive time for us.”

If these activities sound enticing, a move to a Stockland Retirement Village could be the best thing for you. Plan ahead and find your new home before next holidays, and for now, surround yourself with family, laughter and joy and make this Christmas all the more merrier.
