Opened in late September, the new Clubhouse at Gillin Park has enjoyed heavy patronage with residents utilising all of the facilities on offer.

The most used facility?

“It’s the gym!” confirms Narelle Cook, Village Manager. “And indoor bowls”, she adds.

There is also a health and wellbeing room for visiting health professionals, which doubles as a hair salon for when the hair dresser is on site.

For more casual get-togethers or special village occasions, there is a lounge with gas-log fireplace, kitchen with dining area, and alfresco area at the rear that leads onto the bocce court.

“The multipurpose room is also used often as residents come in to access the library, run art and craft activities or hold their meetings,” adds Narelle.

The involvement of residents during the consultation phase ensured the Clubhouse was built with facilities they would use.

“Our residents are very involved in the decision-making at Gillin Park. They were consulted throughout the process allowing us to build a Clubhouse where they have been involved in the design.”
