As part of Stockland’s commitment to creating communities that thrive now and into the future, on Sunday 15th October, Affinity Village and 13 other Stockland retirement living villages around Australia hosted a ‘Family Day’ event in support of the Stockland CARE Foundation.

The Stockland CARE Foundation aims to create a better way to live by improving the health, wellbeing and education of Australian communities.

At Affinity Village, over 200 attendees joined in the fun, with a range of activities for the whole family including face painting, mini golf, a petting zoo, craft tables and story-time.

“This event was twice the size of last year’s. We had so many residents and their family members enjoying themselves, it’s fantastic to see them all having a great time together,” says Julie Du Vernet, Assistant Village Manager.

“The event was such a success, it had to be extended by another hour as everyone was having so much fun they didn’t want it to end!” she continues.

Lunch consisted of mini hot dogs and hamburgers, followed by ice-cream. The children were in foodie heaven!

“Seeing all the children laughing and having fun with their families is so nice. It made all the work, aching feet and tired muscles worthwhile!” adds Carol Stannard, Affinity Village resident and Social Committee organiser.

Funds raised at Affinity’s event totalled $524, contributing to the over $5,000 in donations that was raised nationwide. All proceeds will go directly to the Stockland CARE Foundation partners Redkite and Touched by Olivia.
