Creating communities that residents want to live in is important to us – that includes communities within our villages, as well as larger ones that include our family and friends.

This year, Affinity Village held their third Family Day on Sunday 28th October with over 200 residents and family members attending.

Activities on the day included a jumping castle, petting zoo, face painting, cookie decorating, card making and story time.

“It was great fun, I loved feeding the pony,” said Jacob Johnson, aged 7.

“Affinity Village was abuzz with residents and family coming to the Clubhouse to enjoy a fun filled day. With over 60 children there was much joy as the children went around having fun from the petting zoo to story time. The day was topped off with yummy hamburgers and sausage sizzle followed by ice cream and healthy lolly bags and books for the kids. Great day!” said Carol Stannard, Affinity Village social committee member and Family Day organiser.

“We also had our best day of fundraising for Redkite,” she continued.

Not only was it a fun event for all involved, it was an opportunity for the Stockland community to support our Stockland CARE Foundation partners Redkite and Touched by Olivia.

Total funds raised through the raffle and donations totalled $554.20, exceeding last year’s amount.

“Seeing all the residents come together to pull off such a successful event, for such a good cause is exactly what living in a retirement village is about. The community, friendships and camaraderie is one of the biggest reasons why our residents made the decision to move,” said Stefanie Johnson, Affinity Village Sales Professional.

“I can’t want to see what next year’s event will be like!”
