New Tavern Is Underway

Upon completion in September 2019, the new family friendly Baringa Tavern will include a main bar and lounge area, large outdoor veranda, function rooms, a dedicated sports bar, a woodfire pizza kitchen and an extensive kids zone complete with TV, video games and a variety of toys for children of all ages.

Adam Renai, Development Manager at Stockland, said: “We are very excited to commence work on Baringa Tavern, our first food, drink and entertainment offering for this thriving Sunshine Coast community.“Our vision is to create a go-to destination that will meet the needs of this rapidly growing community now and well into the future, a place that connects people for business and fun, and is also family friendly with something for everyone.

“Right next door to the future Stockland Baringa shopping centre, this new tavern will be located in a prime location within Baringa, the first suburb of Aura, servicing not only our Baringa residents but also the surrounding Bellvista and Bells Reach communities.

Baringa also has a strong trade area population growth, which is projected to grow at an average annual rate of 9.3% to 30,000 by 2021.”Located on the corner of Aura Boulevard & Edwards Terrace the new 1,300 square metre indoor and outdoor tavern will overlook the Baringa Civic Park and Skate Plaza and will be managed by well-known hotel operators Richard Deery from the Story Bridge Hotel and Scott Armstrong from Suncoast Hotels.

On choosing to open a new tavern in Stockland’s Baringa community, Richard Deery said: “We have been looking to expand to the Sunshine Coast for a number of years now but have held off as we have been waiting for something as exciting as Aura. Now we are eagerly awaiting the opening in 2019 and can’t wait to be a part of this fantastic new community.”

Scott Armstrong comments, “We are looking forward to engaging with the Baringa community with the opening of our new family friendly tavern in 2019. The tavern will feature indoor and outdoor dining areas, a large function room and a kids areas as well as a great looking sports bar, gaming lounge and drive through liquor store.”

Adrian Allen, Regional Manager at Stockland, said: “We’re thrilled to start work on another key component of the vibrant heart of Baringa.”

“We take immense pride in the early delivery of extraordinary community facilities for our residents and welcome the start of construction of a new tavern which will no doubt be a fantastic venue for the community to enjoy.

“This new retail offering is one of many key pieces of infrastructure we are in the process of delivering for Aura and will complement the Aura Business Park which will be home to more than 3,000 new jobs and is on track to become a major employment hub for the Sunshine Coast.”

Up to 10 families a week are moving into Baringa and construction has commenced on Aura Central, which will be the future heart of Aura featuring the City Centre, the extensive People’s Place parkland, a range of education and sporting facilities and a future employment precinct.
