Retailer: Sushi Master

Sushi Master are located opposite Woolworths. Helen, Store Manager tells us her retailer story...

Tell us about your store.

We are one of the stores in the Sushi Master family. Our store is one of the sushi boutique shops offering authentic Japanese food to more than thousands of customers.  The customers can either choose to grab a quick lunch to go or to sit down to enjoy our food in a friendly and cosy environment.

What products, services or experiences do you offer?

In our shop, we offer handmade sushi and fresh sashimi. Japanese hot meals like Teriyaki and Katsu are also a popular choice among our customers. Authentic Japanese ramen and tasty rice paper rolls are also the highlights of our menu. We are committed to providing our customers with a high-class Japanese culinary experience. We hope every customer of ours can come to our shop with an empty stomach and leave with a satisfied smile.

What do you love most about your job?

As a sushi restaurant manager, my job is not simply about stock control and managing shifts for employees but is also about to promote our brand value and to make sure the service quality is up to the standard. The feature of my job requires me to communicate quite often with our customers and suppliers. I feel most satisfied when I find out that I am actually building a relationship with my customers, not as a restaurant manager but a friend. It is like I am sharing my homemade food with my neighbours. The best part of my job is that I can finish my day with the stories they share with me during the conversations and get motivated by the smile they have on their face when they leave the restaurant.

What motivates you?

Customers' satisfaction, the passion in the food retail industry and self-achievement that is achieved when you get your job done.

What are three words that describe you?

Passionate, Persistent, Thoughtful

What are three words that describe your store?

Friendly, affordable, cosy

How have you coped with COVID-19, and what are you looking forward to?

Like many other restaurants, we have been lost and struggled to find a balance between operation and keeping up with the government policy at the same time. After discussion with our headquarters, we have created a hygiene procedure to make sure the safety of our customers and employees. Meanwhile, we have also introduced a delivery service to our customers to make sure they can enjoy our food while staying at home. Thanks to the support from our loyal customers and support from the shopping centre as we now make our way out the other side by following the above methods.
