Here, we introduce you to the faces behind some of your favourite Stockland retailers. Learn about the history of their business, the products and services they offer and what they love about their local community.

Meet Maurizio, Maurizio Jewellers 


1. Tell us about your store? 

Small business locally owned family business. My great grand father was a watchmaker in Italy. Took the passion of designing custom made jewellery. We focus on customer service and quality products. We are members of an independent jewellery network called Nationwide with about 600 members. Nominated Service Retailer of the Year 2019 in the Stockland Shopping Centre

2. What products, services or experiences do you offer?

I am the only jeweller in the centre specialised on jewellery repairs  I can repair most of the jewellery onsite while our customers are shopping. I rejuvenate jewellery restoring it to the original factory finishing. I charge only $20 per piece or 30 for large chains. I also make Rhodium Plating onsite currently on special starting from $60 per regular wedding / engagement ring. We offer a design and remodeling service. We can melt your old jewellery and make new modern or vintage exclusive pieces. I am an Antwerp diamond dealer and I can source Diamond and gems. Can show you high resolution pictures of diamonds before ordering the stone. We supply the best cut hearts & arrows diamonds and I provide some tutorials to our customers, please book an appointment if you haven't seen one yet. We proudly showcase exquisite designs and we focus on quality. We also purchase all unwanted or broken jewellery. 

3. What do you love about your store?

I love establishing a connection with my customers. Offering our experience and knowledge. Helping finding or creating the Jewellery piece of their dreams. Making something exclusive and unique for them.

4. What feedback to you get from your customers? 

They are very happy to discover the range of services that we offer now available in the centre. They love experiencing our competent service and advise. Often surprise when we complete a Complex repair by the next day. Since Covid-19 jewellery cannot be sent away to other cities for repair. We are the only jewellers offering this fast and reliable local service in the centre.


5. Do you have a funny story you would like to share? 

I have a lovely old lady in a wheel chair and the daughter brings her in the shop for small repairs. She reminds me of my grandmother. She has a bit of dementia and tends to damage the same piece of jewellery in the same spot. It is a small repair and I make it free of charge. She always bring me back chocolates.

6. What are some common customer questions you get? 

Do you send my jewellery away? (No)!Do you make repairs here onsite? (yes) Can this be repaired? I have a jewellery piece in my mind, can you make it? YES & YES

7. What are some unusual customer questions you get? 

Do you sell jewellery? Might sound silly but they were after real old school hand crafted quality jewellery!!! Loved it!!

8. What drives you and the team to success?

To listen to our customer needs and helping them to fulfilling their dreams.

9. What do you love about our local community? 

They appreciate and recognise service and quality. They are grateful and loyal. They gave me the drive to be there by myself, open for them during all the lock down period. I was the only jeweller open in the centre.

10. What are customers wanting right now? 

Service, quality, competence, something that will last and retain value. 

11. What new trends are you seeing? 

Actually the return to the old unique and custom made piece. Some individual, special, yours.....

12. What advice would you have for other retailers? 

There are not many small business left in a jungle of national chains. Focus on your customers, you are one of them...

13. What did you wish customers know before they visited your store? 

Be reassured I will listen to you and my focus will be to help you rather than just selling something to you at all costs..

14. What are some must-have items, services or experiences right now? 

Discover the hearts and arrows diamonds. You will be able to appreciate the perfection of an ideal cut diamond, laser engraved and certified. Look through our special loop and believe your eyes!!!

15. Why do you think shopping centres are important? 

Convenience, convenience, convenience!!! Everything is there for you from car park to security. 

16. What is your current role and main responsibilities? 

I am the owner/director of the company and the cleaner when often required. I am a small business owner.

17. What do you love most about your job? 

Establishing a connection with my customer. Deserve their trust and respect. Creating something unique, fulfill dreams.


18. What makes a great jeweller?  

Competency, knowledge, integrity.

19. What is your most memorable moment in your store? 

Had many but recently being open during lock down.

20. What’s three words that describe you? 

Competent, Passionate, professional

21. What’s three words that describe your store? 

Friendly, unique, exquisite.  

22. What are some of your favourite stores in your Stockland centre? 

I love Lantern Lane, Go Vita, Johnssons Farm Market and yes.... The bottle shop!!!

23. How have you coped with COVID-19 and what are you looking forward to? 

I was there for my customers when it was tough, I hope they will remember when everybody else will reopen. Thank you for all of those that came to exchange some nice words.
