Sharing a meal over Christmas is a big part of festivities for many Australian families, but for some, pulling a meal together can be difficult. This year, Brumby’s Gladstone stores have partnered with St Vincent de Paul to provide loaves of bread to those doing it tough this Christmas. In the brand’s largest bread drive ever undertaken customers can gift two freshly baked, wholesome loaves of bread to the donation bank for distribution by St Vincent de Paul for just three dollars at any Brumby’s Bakery across the country.
Brumby’s Bakery Gladstone Valley and Kin Kora Franchisee Andrew Davis said he was amazed at the response so far, with more than 800 loaves donated in the first few weeks of the campaign. “In just over four weeks we have received donations for more than 886 loaves of bread, which will make a huge impact on the Gladstone community,” said Andrew. “Come late December, we will add up the total number of loaves in our bread bank for St Vincent de Paul. "A mixture of gift vouchers and freshly baked loaves will then be used in Vinnies Christmas hampers and food drives throughout the community.”Andrew is encouraging the local community to visit Brumby’s Gladstone outlets before Christmas to make a donation. “For just three dollars customers can ‘bank’ two loaves of freshly baked bread, usually valued at $8.00, for an Australian family who might not have a lot to look forward to this Christmas,” said Andrew.
Brumby’s Bakery Christmas giving campaign kicked off on Monday 10 November and will run until late December at participating outlets Australia-wide.
Brumby’s Bakery also has a wide range of delicious freshly baked Christmas themed treats, from traditional Christmas puddings to fun Christmas cupcakes – there’s something for every member of the family.
