January is a free trial month...... the New Year really starts in February!
A lot of people start the new year with the "New Year New Me" mantra but by the end of January all their good intentions have gone by the wayside. Never fear, we have worked with local stylist Leah Harvey and centre retailers to provide some Fashion, Beauty & Health inspiration to get you back on track and help you towards your New You goals because we all know January is a free trial month.... the New Year really starts in February!!
New Year / New You - Fashion
We’ve all experienced that morning where you go to your wardrobe and ask that age old question, “What am I going to wear today, I have literally nothing in my wardrobe to wear!” (as you scan through racks and racks of beautiful clothes!!!). Well, this is where Stockland becomes your new best friend!
Why not hit 2019 with a spark of new wardrobe bliss, and add a hint of print heaven to your collection!
A maxi dress is a wonderful way to bring print into the wardrobe.
This beautiful maxi (Target $39) oozes elegance with its head-to-toe print and floaty silhouette. Pair it with a pair of tan leather sandals (Bondi Tan Corelli $69.95 Williams Shoes) and rattan bag (Target $20) and you’re ready for a lunch date with the girls, or a nice relaxing BBQ with friends at home.
Animal print is another edgy and creative way to add some flavour into the robe!
You can keep it simple with the one type of animal print, or if you really want to put the E in Edgy, clash and mash them together! Here I’ve mashed together a gorgeous snake print bodysuit (Ally $15.99) with a leopard print silk midi skirt (Ally $19.99). Feel free to up the fancy radar with a killer pair of black heels (Charlotte Black $49.99 Spendless Shoes) or you could even keep it casual with your favourite pair of sneakers.
Leah’s Style tid bits:
• Did you know that wearing print all the way through (from head to toe) provides length and fluidity to the body shape.
• If you have a triangle body shape (larger in the bottom half than the top half), wearing big, bold, statement prints on the bottom will only enlarge this area and is not going to be your best look!
If print isn’t your cup-of-tea, then try block colour combinations.
An all-white ensemble with a pinch of tan and gold accessories is a gorgeous way to embrace summer. This bouncy little flutter skirt (Broderie Skirt $25.99 Ally) paired with a simple button through cami (Button-front Cami $17.99 Ally), lashings of gold jewels (Gold bangles Colette) and finished off with tan wedges (Buvaro Tan $89.95 Novo) and tan plaited belt (Just Jeans), will have you dreaming of strolling the streets of Santorini! Don’t forget your fedora (Just Jeans), it will complete the perfect all-white outfit.
If white just scares you, then switch to a killer black combo!
This very comfortable and wearable pantsuit (Woven Harrison Jumpsuit $44.99 Cotton On) paired with leopard print heels (Insane Ocolot $59.95 Novo), some statement bling for the ear-lobes and throw in lashings of gold bangles from Colette, and you have yourself the perfect date night outfit!
Leah’s Style tid bits:
• Block colour outfits are a brilliant way of bringing length and fluidity to the areas that women most need it. If you have problem areas within your shape that you’re not keen on, block colours will instantly diffuse these areas and make them look more balanced with your body shape.
Now, if the print and block colour outfits don’t get your ‘new me’ vibe pumping, then perhaps its time to don the streetwear!
This tee (Black Merci tee $49.95 Just Jeans), teamed with a rad pair of denim shorts (Show Midi Short $59.95 Just Jeans) and your fave pair of sketches sneakers ($129 Sportfirst) and you’re ready for a day of fun with the kids! Just add a satin scarf (Fleur Satin Scarf $19.99 Cotton On) as a bandanna and you’ve achieved street wear queen in a flash! You could even swap the sneakers for the leopard print heels, and you’re ready for a night on the bubbles!
Leah’s style tid bits:
• There is a length and cut of shorts to fit nearly all body shapes.
• Shoes can make a massive difference! Shoe height, texture, toe shape and colour can often make or break an outfit!
