The new season denim trend you must have for spring styling
The mercury is creeping its way back up and the scent of freshly-mown grass and Jasmine vines are drifting through the air. Spring has officially arrived and the excitement of updating our wardrobes for the new season gives us a bounce in our step. ‘But where to begin?’ we hear you ask. Your denim collection is a great place to start!

While denim certainly transcends the seasons, there are a few stand-out trends that roll through each year to keep us on our toes and 2019 is no different. Cue the denim cut-off, or Bermuda short as they’ve been labelled.
It seems our denim wardrobes will be taking influence from the bike short trend that has filtered from the runway down onto the streetwear scene and has been endorsed by high-profile celebrities like Gigi Hadid. The longer length and fitted silhouette of bike shorts is a welcome change to the short-shorts trends of the past and is arguably one of the coolest and simplest trends to nail this spring summer. If you’re a jeans and T-shirt kind of person, then opt for a crisp white tee or crop from Cotton On loosely tucked into a pair of denim cut-offs from Decjuba and pared-back with boots and a staple black leather belt from Edge Clothing.
A cotton or linen button-up from Decjuba (which should be a part of your SS19 capsule wardrobe if it isn’t already) is another effortlessly stylish piece that can be French-tucked into some denim cut-offs. Just throw on a pair of staple dark Quay shades from Edge Clothing and slides for a chic daywear outfit to take you from a family picnic to the beach with friends.
Bermuda shorts are also a great addition to your wardrobe if you want to elongate your legs, and bonus – as denim is a thicker fabric and they’re often high-waisted, it can act as a form of shapewear. Just be sure that when trying on your perfect pair, they sit at your waist or a little higher.
And don’t worry, we haven’t forgotten the guys! The warm weather has sparked a fresh range of denim pieces for dudes like the sharp SS19 range from Connor. Paired with a few printed button-ups, his daywear wardrobe will be sorted for the season.
Keeping it chic-yet-casual is our motto for spring summer 2019. Stroll by the centre this weekend and update your denim wardrobe – stat!
