Behind each of your favourite stores are passionate, hardworking people who welcome you to take part in their story, every time you walk in. Here, we introduce you to the faces behind some of your favourite Stockland retailers. Learn about the history of their business, the products and services they offer and what they love about their local community.

Meet John from Optus

  1. What products, services or experiences do you offer? 
    Optus offers mobile and fixed solutions to keep our customers connected at all times. We champion customer choice and freedom to collaboratively build up a tailored solution for every unique customer’s needs. 

  2. What do you love about your store?
    I am so proud of the big, classy store that presents Optus as one of the biggest Telco’s in Australia in our local Merrylands centre. 

  3. What feedback do you get from your customers?
    I want to thank Tim for his time and effort in assisting me. An asset to Optus at Merrylands and Optus in general. 20/03/20.

  4. What drives you and the team (where relevant) to success?
    We believe that success is the sum of small efforts repeated day in day out. Therefore, how we doing anything is how we do everything in pursuit of creating last customer relationships. 

  5. What do you love about our local community?
    I love the multiculturalism and energy of our local community. There is never a dull moment! 

  6. With regard to your store type, what are customers wanting right now?
    Customers are excited about 5G and internet solutions both mobile and at home to stay connected during these challenging times. 

  7. What did you wish customers know before they visited your store?
    To have their photo ID with them! 

  8. Why do you think shopping centres are important?
    Everybody loves to see and feel what they are purchasing in a bricks and mortar business. It is tried and tested, and what better place than a shopping centre to do this! 

  9. What do you love most about your job?
    The ability to inspire and challenge my team. Also, from a customer perspective, helping to enrich the lives of our customers with our cutting edge solutions makes us feel like we are making a real difference. 

  10. What motivates you?
    I am motivated by my desire to grow and fulfil my potential so that I can lift those around me and challenge the status quo.
     
  11. What’s three words that describe your store? 
    Authentic, inviting and warm. 

  12. How have you coped with COVID-19 and what are you looking forward to?
    Whatever doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger, so we are blessed to have endured a very difficult time relatively unscathed. We are looking forward to applying the resilience we have demonstrated throughout this most difficult time into the future opportunities that are around the corner.
