Stockland Merrylands is excited to partner with The Social Outfit, to build connections with new migrant and refugee youth within the community to provide a positive and creative space for self-expression, reduce social isolation, increase sense of belonging, and create new learning opportunities.
The centre hosted their Digital Print Workshop series in the Community Room over a 5 week period. The workshops were run by The Social Outfit and included training with a skilled pattern maker and designer to learn painting techniques, drawings and design principles while in a supported environment. The end result of these workshops being a completed digital artwork that was printed and is currently featured at Stockland Merrylands.
The values of The Social Outfit are closely aligned with the Stockland CARE values, whilst creating a greater connection of people to place. With a desire to create a more inclusive culture within our community.
