Renew Australia in the Shoalhaven

Stockland and Renew Australia bringing a creative enterprise to local communities.

Stockland and Renew Australia have teamed up to create Stockland Spaces, a pilot initiative to incubate new artistic and creative projects in Stockland owned buildings in Victoria and NSW.

In this pilot program Stockland Spaces, a large, multi-cubicle office space, suitable for people and projects that can work in a shared desktop environment, is currently being used by local artist, Jen Saunders, for the popular Squid Studios.

Stockland Spaces is based, in part, on the successful Renew Newcastle model where new creative enterprises are given temporary access to otherwise underutilised spaces to incubate their creative initiatives and ideas, building local economic development.

As part of this project Stockland and Renew Australia were seeking designers, photographers, printmakers, painters, illustrators, milliners, jewellers, animators, publishers, video and music makers and other creative types. Participants are given short-term access to an assortment of retail and office spaces made available thanks to the support of Stockland.

Kristy Miglionico, Stockland Nowra Centre Manager said, “Stockland Nowra is excited to be working with Renew to activate spaces and encourage business for new creative retailers within Shoalhaven.”

“The newly created ‘Squid Studio’ in Nowra, run by Jen Saunders, is a great example of how this partnership can work to benefit everyone. The studio space has had a lot of positive attention and we are look forward to seeing what Jen has planned for the space in the future” Kristy said.

“Renew Australia is pleased to partner with Stockland on this pilot initiative. It is great to see them setting an example for other property owners to follow. ” Renew Australia’s Director, Marcus Westbury, said, “These projects are a win-win for the creative participants, Stockland and shoppers.”

Spaces are still available at Vincentia Shopping Village. Expressions of Interest for Stockland Spaces are submitted via an online form on the Stockland Spaces website www.stocklandspaces.com.au. For more information visit: http://stocklandspaces.inventive.net.au/sites/project/nowra/
